email notification with SI7.5 - MAPI and VIM??

I have been looking through the documentation on the crystal knowledge base, and I know that earlier versions of SI only used MAPI for email notification of success/fail of a report run. I have not found the exact statement that version 7.5 still does not support VIM mail, but when I try to do it, it doesn't work. Can someone please confirm for me that the case still is that 7.5 only works with MAPI, or is there a workaround?
