Email Notification Problems 1

Hello

I have a client who has one session backup there Exchange server and another session backup there File Server. We always get problems with Email notification through Cheyenne Alert, intermittently not working. Some of the time we just stop the service and then restart, its comes good, but... only sometimes. I can send a test message from the Exchange server, but not at the File server, get a error message "Failed to create a Test event"
Any Suggestions?

I have been having the same problem with one of my Arcserve servers. The other two work fine and all are configured the same. I have found that I get my email notifications if I leave the Alert program window open and minimized. I have no clue why this is working for me this way.
 
Sometimes the alert manager stop itself. We have 10 servers running various versions of ARCserve AE/WE. It happens now and then. Just stop the alert manager and start it again - it will work fine.
