Email notification did not occur last night...

Every night, after our SQL full backup runs, it sends an email notification to me. We configured SQLMail about 6 months back and it has always worked, until last night. When you look at the history it does not show the small envelope that pertains to the email being sent out and it does show this:

The job succeeded. The Job was invoked by Schedule 10 (Schedule 1). The last step to run was step 1 (Full Backup the XXXXX database). NOTE: Failed to notify 'My Name' via email.

Any idea where I should check? We run SQL2000, SP3.

The failure could be for just about any reason. They running xp_sendmail manually and see if that works.

Thanks. The notification worked successfully last night. I am going to assume it was an aberation.
