Hi.

our network seems to fail to send out email messages outside of out network. we can receive emails from other sources and within our network but we cannot send out (i.e. within the building). we are also connected to another building and we had a hard time sending (and sometimes receiving) emails to and from them. what could be causing this?
we can ping each other and other routers and servers.

additional:
will an error message indicating this:
"Some data referred to the code page 50000 that is currently not supported by the OS. Install support for this language in the Win NT International Code Panel."

What is that code page 50000 referring to?

Is your problem limited to some computers on the network or all people on one Exchange server?

Is it is client specific, your code page error could mean their default word template is set up as something other than English? [sig]<p>Zel<br><a href=mailto:zel@zelandakh.co.uk>zel@zelandakh.co.uk</a><br><a href= > </a><br> [/sig]

Are they going to the outbox?
We had a problem once where somehow the settings got changed so that clients were automatically work offline and all outgoing mail was sent to the outbox and not delivered. [sig][/sig]

What you describe is exactly what we experienced. We had a problem once where the dns entries for the exchange server somehow got changed to an internal ip instead of the public ip and outgoing mail could not route outside the network. Simply changing the dns entry from 192.16.0.1 to the public ip solved the problem. [sig][/sig]
