EMail messages

I am using Netscape 7.1 on my old Dell laptop. I am transferring all the data I want to keep using a thumb drive.
I want to save all my settings, all my old messages, and my bookmarks.
I already have the bookmarks.html saved
I suppose I am asking how do I "save" my messages so that I may import them easily when I get my new computer?

Any helpful suggestions are appreciated and KISS is even better.
