Hi...I am running Exchange Server 2003. Here is what is happening:

1. The employees can send email, and the recipient of these emails can reply, all works fine.
2. Internally, the employees can send back and forth.
3. If an individual from outside of the organization sends someone a NEW (not a reply from one we sent) email, it never arrives?

Where do I start to look to run this down?

Thank you!

What is your SMTP address set to for your users? A common problem that I've seen, is that this address doesn't match their MX record. Example: A user's email address is supposed to look like user@company.com, but they set their SMTP address in Exchange is set to user@mail.company.com.

If an external user sends a message to user@company.com your Exchange server wouldn't know who to deliver it to. Although if an external user replies to a message sent by user@mail.company.com it would be delivered.
