Have been receiving email spams with product offers. Many of them have some gibberish at the bottom. For instance, the latest one has the following:

"medico hog haines gaunt wore kiosk insatiable hostler kumquat effeminate cit xenophobia freed halve inflame bedstraw gloomy stance covetous numb clever ellipsis aqua extrinsic optoisolate evocable hyaline societal schlitz trianon coachman caucus denmark choosy suspense archetypical centrifugate citroen trichloroacetic ballad tonic"

Does anybody know the purpose of this gibberish? Similar stuff comes in on lots of emails. Thank you.

Short Answer: It is garbage do not worry about it.

Long Answer: Some spam filters "rate" a email based on its content giving it a minus for every Filtered word and a plus for every "legit" one. This is but one way Spammers are trying to curcumvent the filters. By placing more "Legit" words in the email than there are "filterd" words it is hopeing to get past rating system.

a newer trick using this method sends the emails in html and using a white colored font on the white email background so you never know it is there unless you do a "select all" in the body of the email!

best to add this to your junk mail and go on, do not reply to the email asking them to stop sending or unsubscribe this only verifies your email address as a valid and continued target.
