Hi,

I'm interested in creating Email Gateway where I can pre-scan any incoming message before entering my mail server. I like to know which MTA I should use for easiest 'n secure configuration with Spamassassin, qmail-scanner and clamav.

Currently, I have RH 3.0 ES with qmail 1.05, vpopmail, courier-imap working fine but I'm having difficult time incorporating spamassassin with it. Is there any documentation or web links out there for email gateway? I heard that qmail is not good for email gateway...is that true?

Any recommendation will be greatly appreciated.

Someone posted a link to a site that has a howto on integrating virus scanners and spam filters into qmail, but I didn't care, so I didn't pay attention. Try the search.

I like postfix. A lot. If you want help on integrating spamassassin/clamav with postfix then I can offer help.

Never heard that qmail makes a bad gateway...

HEre's a guide that I swear by that makes a mail server with spamassassin, clamav, etc into it.

All you need to do is to shutoff IMAP and POP3. Then modify your 'smtproutes' on the gateway to pass email to your mail server.

I've heard exactly the opposite about qmail - that it's rather good.
