I use win2K pro like plenty of other people. That means not updating to Internet Security 2007. However, Symantec decide to release 12.7.0.2 on Live Update last week that means my email stops working if I log off then on. The cause is email filtering trapping ports 25 and 110 but becoming disconnected if a log off occurs. It doesn't matter if email filtering is disabled.
My gripe is that the help desk doesn't even forward my observation to the development team and just recommends I update to 2007.
Their update cost me all weekend restoring to 12.6.0.1. Not very good testing on their part that could affect millions.
I hope someone in Symantec picks this up so that something is done for the little people who don't want to upgrade to XP. No one in their IT service desk is interested in anything other than pressing answer A, B or C.
