I have a SBS 2003 with Exchange 2003. One particular user has accent marks in her name and would like these included in her email display name, not her email address.

I have discovered that although when in the General tab of her AD account in the properties, I can enter the accented letters in there and they show correctly from there, however when you recieve an from this user the letters are normal....

Is it possible to add accented letters (ie É) to an email display name from within an Exchange 2003 environment? If so how?

Thanks in advance.

her name and would like these included in her email display name, not her email address" As viewed from what client? If the client is UTF8 aware, it's a matter of language support and using the right regional characterset.

Thanks for the reply xmsre,
I tested this on my own account (still SMS 2003, Exchange 2003) and I use Outlook 2003. I could enter the accent marks in AD, it shows correctly but when I send mail out to a pop account I have (collected by my Outlook) the accent marks were not present...
The server is aware of the characterset (otherwise they wouldn't show in AD?) and my Outlook is aware as I can send mail out with accent marks so why wouldn't it show?

Thanks in advance.

Did you try to update the "Simple Display Name" field in the Exchange Advanced tab?

Yes I did but it wouldn't accept the accented characters.

THe pop server likely didn't support UTF8. You won't get the charecters without UTF8 support down the path. You can only control your site, not the rest of the world. It's a best effort.
