We have Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5 and are running Office 2k3 with SP1 on
it. Now on the exchange server the e-mail box limit for this certain account
has no cap on it. When this account tries to recieve now, outlook says it has
reached the mailbox limit. How can this be when the exchange server is set to
no cap.

Is the mailbox configured to 'use information store limits' which do set a limit? If so you need to untick that check box before the mailbox truely has no limits.

Is that option in Administrator Console or does it have to be configured from the users PC.

It is configured on the exchange server using exchange administrator console. Check under the information store mailbox resources, mailbox properties 'limits' tab.
