I need to send email with an attachment from UNIX to a Lotus Notes recipient.
When I use the following command,

cat /home/x10/lockbad.dat ¦ mailx -s "Test 6" ErnieX@isp.com

the file lockbad.dat shows as part of the body of the email
rather than as an attachement

Any suggestions?

Thank you!

ErnieTT,

Try this:

    cat /home/x10/lockbad.dat ¦ uuencode ¦ mailx -s "Test 6" ErnieX@isp.com

Annihilannic.

Annihilannic is right, however don't forget to put the name of your output file after uuencode. The output file name is what the recipient will see as the attachment
