Email and a VPN connection

Hi when im connected to my a remote computer via VPN i can't send email...it says unable to relay msg. both locations are behind NAT. all of my clients that try to VPN aren't able to send any emails.. is this normal? how can i get it to send?? when i disconnect from the vpn session it sends fine

It is due to be connected to the VPN, not the internet. You have to use the remote sides gateway, or get a router that supports split-tunneling. Unless I am misunderstanding how you are set up. You are using a local client to connect to a VPN server?

Yes your correct. my sales office can't send emails when connected to the vpn at the corporate office. Do you think configuring the default gateway for the corparate office will make it work? I'll give it a shot to c what happends
