email addresses hijacked form eVite to email virus?

Has anyone gotten viruses via Email from acquaintances or friends of friends lately? I had organized an event for March in January on eVite. In the past 2 weeks, I’ve gotten or heard of 4 viruses via email to and from someone on my original list. These are people that would not ordinarily email each other – or at least from work email addresses.

No one on the list is smart enough or vengeful to be spoofing the addresses. eVite is the only common denominator I can think of, and am curious if I am alone (and paranoid) or if there are others who have had similar things.

All of the major viruses lately grab addresses from various files (adress books, etc) that are known to contrain them and spoof the sender's address.

yea - I know. However these were to and from people that wouldnt have the other person's email address. I guess that perhaps it was a small occurance, co-incidence, or people noticing haven't looked here for advice. Just a thought.
