While using the email address (CONTSUPREF) in CONTSUPP as a login value on our web site, I discovered that one of our contacts' email was truncated. The CONTSUPREF field is 35 characters long; the email address is 36.

However, the email address displays correctly and completely in the contact's info screen. Is the additional info stored elsewhere? Is there another table/field for email addresses?

TIA for your help.

Hi

The address1 field holds the extra characters,

Do the Following SQL query

Select * from contsupp where contact = 'E-mail Address' and contsupref like 'email_address@%'

Change email_address to the first part of the long email address, hopefully this should show you the record in quesiton.

Thanks, Rob; I also found the KB article at the Goldmine site that describes this.

Backward compatibility? Duct tape on the legacy database?

Oh well; query works now.
