Hello,

I'd like to know if there's anyway to Email a report in VFP.

I have an application that produces a report, however it will be incredibly useful to actually Email this report. I was wondering if there are any features that will allow me to create some type of button that will bring up Outlook and allow me to Email this report.

Also if this is the case, would the report have to become a type of PDF format, as I assume that whoever receives the Email may not have VFP install in their machine.

Please let me know if I would have to save this report on a different format, so later I could Email the report in Outlook.

Any help would be helpful.

Thanks

Yes, you will have to export the report to a PDF, WORD document, Excel spread sheet, or an HTML page to send it as an Email if you want all the formatting and such to be pretty much preserved. If you want just the data you can certainly dump the data the report would normally display to the email as text or as a textfile attachment. The other formats I listed above can be created with a number of third-party product XFRX and FRX2ANY chief among them. The PDF can be created for free. If all you wanted to do was print the report at the other end you could just dump the report to a PS (postscript) file and send that to a PS printer at the other end. There are plenty of threads and FAQs on all of this in this forum and in the FAQs area so take a moment and do a KEYWORD SEARCH here and look through the FAQ's. It's all possible and you'll find what you need laid out here in this forum.
