Hi Everyone,

One of my users who uses the only Mac on our LAN, had her mac freeze up on her this morning. She rebooted it and the system froze at start up.
I looked up resolution and held down the OPT key at boot up, selected the hard drive (my only option) and pressed the right arrow.
I then got the gray screen with Apple, that quickly changed to a "No" sign (circle with slash through it).
So after reading some more helpful advice here on Tek-Tips, I followed some, but didn't get anywhere. This includes the First Aid with the Recovery disk.
So facing the fact of reinstalling everything, I chose to recovery option. However when I got to the point of selecting the volume to install on, no volume ever appeared. So now I'm stuck.

The eMac is running Panther X, with Classic Mode. Anymore ideas anyone?

THanks!
