Hi,

My customer has some ELU31/1 cards (R2C) for use in a /50 cabinet.

There will be three cards, all in the same magazine. What do I need to do for sync and bus?

Many thanks

To get the sync ring working, you need to have a cable from the TX of the 1.st ELU31 board to the RX of the second ELU31 board, and so on to the 3.rd ELU31 board.
Cable to be used is: TSR901 1223.
Use end terminator at the first (RX) and last (TX) ELU31 board.

Thanks Doktor,

We have changed the scenario slightly. We want to use ELU31/3 in the old magazine. Now, we need the bus cable 901 1227, but what about Sync for the first board and terminator for these new style boards?

I appreciate your help :)

I am not certain about the terminators...
So;
To get the sync ring working, you need to have a cable from the TX of the 1.st ELU31 board to the RX of the second ELU31 board, and so on to the 3.rd ELU31 board.
At last have the TX of the 3.rd board be cabled to to RX of the 1.st ELU31 board.
Cable to be used is: TSR901 1223.

This has become too difficult to work out with the limited information from ALEX about terminators on the bus and new style cards. We have sourced an LBP20 for our ELU31/1's and so we have no issue any more. All cards will go in the same magazine and we will loop the tx/rx on the first board :D

Stupid old LIMS :D

I know slash50 has solved his problem but we are in the same position of needing to add several ELU31/1 or ELU31/2 cards as bus slaves in the same magazine as an existing card connected to the synch ring.

My understanding is that the TSR 9011224 or TSR 9011225 is required for this, not the TSR 901123. Any comment either way?

(Alex for BC13SP6 states that TSR 9011224 is discontinued and is to be replaced with TSR 9011225)

On re-reading doktor's explanation, I think he is referring to the synch ring only, not the bus slaves.

So, as I understand it,

TSR 9011223 is for the synch ring
TSR 9011225 is for the bus slave on ELU31/1 and /2
TSR 9011227 is for the bus slave on ELU31/3

TSR 9011224 for ELU31/1 has been discontinued. Replaced by
TSR 9011225
