Elite IPK II ACD move to vmware guest

We have a computer setup with ACD software. i want to convert this machine to a vmware guest under ESXi. i did the conversion without issue. however, the MIS Server errors while starting. i checked a few things and found the license.xml file which had the MAC address from the original computer under <HardWareID>. i entered the MAC address of the new vmware guest and the MIS Server now shows JVM errors. do i need a new activation code because of the new MAC address. btw, it's version 1.0.1.0, if it helps.

i did not setup this ACD computer. the company that installed the phone system did and we are no longer in contact with them.

any ideas?
