Eliminating pop up boxes from virus 1

Recently I been getting Messenger Service pop up windows on my PC every 15 minutes. It keeps saying:
Message from Windows Registry to Windows User.
WINDOWS ERROR MESSAGE - REGISTRY DAMAGED...etc

or another pop up might say:
Message from Security Monitor to User...
or Critical error message...

Then at the end it says to eliminate the "pop-up like this one" you should go to the site:

http://www.registrycleanerxps.com

Or it might be another type of pop-up that says another site (such as

http://www.dlpatch.com)

to go to get rid of the pop up. All pop ups are viruses but how do I get rid of them??

Upgrade your Windows to SP2, if you haven't already.

To prevent the messages you are seeing, disable the Messenger Service in Services (this Service has nothing to do with MSN or Windows Messenger).
