eliminate spaces

How can I squeeze the spaces out of a string...any multiple spaces reduced to 1 space...

using 8.5

Put your field into this formula:

Local StringVar Z := {field};
While " " in Z
do (Z := Replace (Z , ' ' , ' ') )
; Z

Put this formula in place of your field.
