we replaced a Nortel with a Avaya IP Office 500 and now the elevator ringdowns wont auto answer. These are Viking K1500-EHS emergency phones. The analog ringdown portion works great, but the auto answer part is not. We tested it with a copper pots line and it works fine but not with the analog port.
after calling Viking they asked that we check the voltage when the phone rings and we found out that the IP Office does not push enough AC voltage to trigger the AutoAnswer. Has anyone had this type of issue before and if so is there something that we can use to boost the AC voltage.
Here is what I got.
Speaker phone requires:
• 18 volts DC
• 90 volts AC
IP Office generates:
• 35 volts DC
• 2.22 mili-volts AC
and the phones worked with the Nortel and Copper POT line trunks but not with the IP Office.
