Hello,
Hoping someone has some idea/suggestions on how I can accomplish this. Here is our scenario:
We have a primary PBX and backup PBX that are not connected to each other in any way.
We have 4 PRIs connected (using blue cable) to a primary Gateway which connects to the primary PBX
We have a backup gateway that connects to the backup PBX and pre-wired from the backup gateway to the smart jack (using red cables)
All our production phones are registered to the primary PBX.
At each of the critical areas, we have "DR" phones registered to backup PBX
If and when our primary PBX is down for some reason, we have to go to the switchroom and remove the blue cables from the smart jacks and plug in the red cables. By doing that, our incoming DIDs are now pointed the backup PBX without having to contact Telco to make any changes. Users can use the DR phones while we do maintenance on the primary PBX.
What I am looking for is, is there an electronic solution of switching the PRI connections? Is there a device out there that can have inbound PRIs and have a way to select the outbound port for each PRI. Almost like the old days where your TV only had one input so you used a switcher to select between TV, VCR or a game console by pressing a button. I tried searching in Google but no luck.
