Elapsed Worktime Calculation

Can anyone help me with a formula to calculate elasped work time? The time is for a group working a five day schedule Monday to Friday, Hours 8:00 AM To 5:00 PM. The data is currently arranged with the start date in one cell and start time in a second cell, but they can be combined. The ending time will be keyed value.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If start date / time in A1 and end date / time in A2 then
=A2-A1
format as date / time
will do the trick
