Is there a command in SCO UNIX 5.0.7 the will allow me to close the cd-rom and eject it when I am done?
There is an -eject option under cdrecord, but all I want is to mount the cd, lists its contents then umount it and eject.
We do this to test the CDs we make to send to our clients

Thanks again

Joe

PD When we send these updates we have to make over 500 Cds, and any thing that would make this job easier is welcome.

cdrecord dev=1,0 -load

will load a disk (note your dev numbers may differ)

cdrecord dev=1,0 -eject

will unload the disk.

FYI listing the contents of a cd ONLY tests its directory entry not the actual data. use sum, cksum or md5sum to ensure an accurate copy of the whole disk or indiviual files

I went and tried the commands to load the cd and unload them, they worked fine!
I took your advise and set up a better test for the file by using the sum command. Now, I can test one CD after the other by just pressing enter, it sure makes the job easier.

Thanks stanhubble!

Joe
