I have EIGRP routing protocol running between fully meshed VPN tunnels.

I understand that EIGRP will load balance across equal paths and that to introduce other un-equal paths I have to use the variance command.

If I have 2 paths and there is latency on one of the paths will EIGRP automatically re-route across the other path?

If not is there a way to ?

EIGRP uses the following formula to scale the delay:

delay = delay(i) * 256

where delay(i) is the sum of the delays configured on the interfaces, on the route to the destination network, in tens of microseconds. The delay as shown in the show ip eigrp topology or show interface commands is in microseconds, so you must divide by 10 before you use it in this formula. Throughout this paper, we use delay as it is configured and shown on the interface.
So it should.. however if the issue is intermittent it may still route some traffic across....

use a offset list if the link shouldn't be used till it gets fixed..

We must go always forward, not backward
always up, not down and always twirling twirling towards infinity.

Keep in mind that in EIGRP delay metric as stated above is a sum of all delays configured (either default or set through administration)on the interfaces to the destination network and not based on actual or real-time delay or traffic on the link.

Yes that is the problem , I have now been told that performance routing (pfr) is what I need. I think this only works with BGP or can it work with EIGRP?

Not sure if it's complex or easy to configure and use.

Does anyone use this ?
