Why when performing debug eigrp packet am I seeing phrases such as
(fastEthernet0/0) is down: Interface Goodbye received followed immediately by it bringing up the interface 3 seconds later.

Also recieved is: retry limit exceeded

Performing a sh ip eigrp nei shows the route for this fa0/0 as having an rto of 5000. There is a (supposedly) worse route in place and that is the only one that this router is picking up in the routing table?????

As the previous poster stated.
If you can show your current configs, general network layout and a current sh ip route we can maybe offer some insight.
Thanks

Hi, sorry for not posting more detail - basically this involved 2 2811's connected together by 1)LES circuit and 2)Dialer int.

Solved things by removing the vlan that the LES traffic passed over on either router and giving them an old fashioned reboot.

Can now see both routes in the eigrp nei table and the one over the LES is the best route.

Cheers though
