Anyone got EHDU working on SIP trunks?

Dialling EHDU number from IP phone gets the external phone to ring but once the call is answered on the external device, the IP phone just keeps ringing. Almost like the answer has not been received by the MCD.

SIP trace shows 200OK, so as far as SIP is concerned, the call is answered. I'm guessing something between the SIP stack and MiNET call control stack but it's just a guess.

So, if anyone has got this to work I'd appreciate any feedback...

In the CoS of the External Hot Desk User set Answer Confirmation to NO

This might be relevant ( not quite your situation )

EHDU number does not ring when EHDU number uses SIP Trunks Publish Date Mar-29-2012

Description/Symptoms
Making a call to External Hotdesk User number that dials a PSTN number results in the PSTN number not ringing. This can occur if the call is being made over a SIP trunk that has the SIP Peer option "Force sending SDP in initial Invite - Early Answer" set to "Yes"

Body/Solutions
Set "Force sending SDP in initial Invite - Early Answer" to "No"

Mitelpassion,

I have experienced exactly the same situation but never been able to fix it. I haven't had the time to open a ticket with the support guys.

Let us know if what DoubleUT and Bill66 suggest give you any possitive results.

Regards,

Daniel

I have also had a similar issue with this and it turned out that the SIp porvider had the ability to set an alternate destination if the call was not setup in time - this allowed for cases where the MCD may have been out of service.

- worked like a forward no answer ( but only if the sip call setup didnt occur within the time set ).

We found that this timer was set too short and was trying to divert the call before it was setup. extending this timer at the carrier end fixed it for us.

DoubleUT your suggestion worked.

I must admit I've never actually used, therefore didn't understand this feature on EHDU. I've used the answer confirmation on ME (today UC Mobile) back in the day. With ME you had some form of message stating you needed to accept the call. I guess MCD either does not provide this OR I'm not getting the audio packets.

Thanks for the help here gents.
