One of our customers has an EHDU on his Cell Phone. Everything works fine when the cell phone has got strong signal and when it's switched on. The problem is when the cell phone is switched off or in an area without signal.

If one of the Desktop Users (i.e. IP Phone 5312) dials that EHDU extension, it inmediately starts getting ring back tone. If the Cell Phone is switched off, the 5312 user hears ring back tone forever, the call is not transfered to the cell phone voice mail.

Can we fix this? EHDU does not have voicemail on the 3300.

Bigsin,

Answer confirmation where? Trunk Circuit Descriptor, Class of Service?

Regards,

Daniel

Class of Service Options form

Set "Hot Desk External User – Answer Confirmation" as required depending on whether the trunk terminating at the External Hot Desk User provides true answer supervision. If not provided, ensure that "Fake Answer Supervision After Outpulsing" and "Ignore Answer Supervision" are set to Yes in the trunk's circuit descriptor.

By default, this option is set to Yes. I typically turn it off.

kwbMitel,

Trunks are BRI type. I don't have the chance to enable/disable Fake Answer Supervision After Outpulsing" nor "Ignore Answer Supervision" at Trunk's Circuit Descriptor. However, Fake Answer Supervision is set to YES under ISDN Protocol for the BRIs.

I'll play around with both Fake Asnwer Supervision (ISDN Protocol)and Hot Desk External User - Answer Confirmation (COS) and let you know how it goes.

Thanks a lot, Regards,

Daniel

I believe answer confirmation is on by default in COS. If it is on then the user needs to hit a button to be considered answered on his EHDU ( cell phone ). If the cell phone is off this "button" will never get pushed and the 3300 will consider the call not answered. Therefore it rings for ever. As kwbMitel says try remving the COS option and see what happens.

The single biggest problem with communications is the illusion that it has taken place.

Make sure that the forwarding options on the phone are correct
e.g. divert if out of reach or divert if not available

What happens if you call the mobile directly when it is off or out of coverage does it go to voicemail?

Supernova, where are those options "divert if out of reach" and "divert if not available"....???

Most mobile phones have these in the forwarding/divert menu
What type of phone do you have?

go to settings
phone options
call forwarding
you should make sure you are using conditional forwarding
then add the telco's voicemail service number

Did you check the forwarding to voicemail on a direct call to the mobile when it was switched off?
