Effect Tool not working - Photo Paint

This problem was posted by another user back in February but it was not answered! I have just encountered the same problem.


"I must have hit a button somewhere and now I cannot paint over an object in Corel Photo Paint. I can still use the eraser, but none of the paint tools. They still show up and I can adjust the size, brush type etc., but when I paint with them nothing happens. Any suggestions?"
