Editor that reconizes dreamweaver templates

Anyone heard of any free editors that would recognize the editable region of a template page? This is a pie in the sky hope but you never know. I want to be able to let users update pages built with templates.

it is only considered as "editable region" because you can quickly edit it in DW, think of it as a tag that DW recongises
...as far as other editors are concerned it means squat....but you can still edit the file in notepad or any editor...code is code.
