Hi All,
We are currently building a test network for a learning centre network that will contain over 300 PCs. We have used group policy to create the following set up:
-Folder redirection of My Documents.
-Forcing same desktop environment for each user.
-No roaming profiles due to differences in hardware.
Everything seems to be working fine, apart from one thing. The PCs are used by a lot of young kids who PC games. A lot of these games need admin priveleges to run properly and there has been lots of problems previously, with kids installing all sorts of programs on the PCs. We are trialing a programme called Deep Freeze that freezes the hard drive in a certain state and when the machine is rebooted, returns the machine to this state again (a really nice piece of software by the way).
However any previous local user profiles are deleted and anytime anyone logs into a PC the XP tour runs.
Is there anyway for us to turn this off using Group Policy? We have been through GP many times and can't find anything. I know there is a registry edit that can be done on each PC to turn this off, but could we roll this registry edit out to other machines using GP?
Cheers
