Editing the metabase.xml file in Contact Center 6

I am trying to apply the solution found in this thread for reports failing because of the following error:

The system could not output the Agent Stats Summary -Auot Run scheduled report to \\us1ntfs03\departments\_Common\John G\Pick Up\Agent Stats Summary022120131650.pdf.
Error code = -2147206462
Error Description: Dos error.

However, when I try to edit the metabase.xml file I can't save it. I believe the file currently being used by the system.

Is there a way to edit this file without taking the system down?
 
For scheduling be sure the ICEADMIN account has full access control to the \\us1ntfs03\departments\_Common\John G\Pick Up\ folder.

I prefer to schedule to a local CCMA folder and provide the users access to that folder though (Since granting the ICEADMIN write rights to the network could cause security problems).
