Editing the Directory Name field

I have several users who have recently changed their post titles. We use a truncated version of the users job title as the mailbox alias. When the mailbox is originally created a field on the advanced tab of the mailbox properties called ‘Directory Name’ is completed with the alias name. With the change of post titles I have changed other parts of the mailbox including the Alias, but cannot edit the Directory Name field. Does anyone know how I can edit this field?

You can't. The directory name is fixed when you first create the mailbox/folder. If you really need to change the name your only option is to recreate the mailboxes affected (Not recommended on a production server)
