Editing text in CS3

Hi,
I am an absolute newbie and needless to say, I am having problems editing text in a flash movie, the movie includes images and every time i select and delete the text (prices) the image gets broken and i can't cant figure out what i am doing wrong. Please let me know if this is posted in the right area if not please adivse.

Make sure you haven't got the image selected along with the text. Maybe try using layers if you aren't already.
