Editing GroupWise WebAccess buttons 1

Can you change the captions for buttons in WebAccess. We have alot of nurse users and we would like to change the appointment button caption to meeting. Appointment is automatically associated with patients and we don't want them to think they can make appointments for them.

I believe it is possible, but it will be a very involved task to find and replace all the references. In addition, you would probably have to go through the same process EVERY time you applied a GroupWise service pack since most of these update the Webaccess files and would overwrite you custom changes.

The buttons are image files. The default location of the English "Appointment" button image is \\SERVER\SYS\Novonyx\suitespot\docs\com\novell\webaccess\images\appointmenten.gif.

You can customize alot, you just have to get in and dig around. I simply just found what .gif file the page was calling for to display the Novell logo, and named my company file that name. It displays our logo now. Look at the framesresources.properties sheets, there is alot of good stuff in there. Mgmt actually thought that I designed the whole interface because I removed all visual traces of novell branding. Good luck, have fun, oh and make a copy of all the files you update so you can copy them over after SP upgrades.
