Hi guys,

I want to be able to create a button which allows a user to edit the attachment directly in Lotus Notes - ie, if the user launches a document from Notes, any changes they make I want to be saved back into the attachment in the Notes form.

I've started by creating code which detaches the document to a temp directory and then launches it, but not sure what to do next in regards to saving these changes BACK into the Notes form. I want it to work in a similar way when you right click on a document in Notes and select 'Edit'.

Hope someone can help!

I think you're approaching the problem from the wrong point of view.

An attachment is made to be detached and control handed over to the application that can deal with it. You cannot control the behavior of the client app from LScript - it is outside its scope and power.

What you need to do is to have the file embedded in the Notes document. That way the user "opens" the client app inside Notes, and all changes are directly saved in the Notes document.

In neither case is LScript coding needed.

Pascal.

I've got nothing to hide, and I'd very much like to keep that away from prying eyes.
