How do you edit the Aloha interface scheme? Is it possible? I found the file mm.ini and have been hacking at it without progress. We chose one of the graphical themes but don't like the text color on the buttons (blue). I change the color codes but it doesn't seem to effect anything.

In the Newdata folder there is a file called EGI.cfg. Open that in notepad and you will see the settings for all your color schemes in Aloha. You can edit exixting schemes or create a new one.

actually,

there are two different type of schemes, there is the EGI (enhanced Graphical Interface) and the plain FOH themes. The first is Radiant's new graphical solution while the FOH themes are kind of legacy. The EGI is, as described above, edited with the EGI.cfg, while the MM.ini affects the FOH themes. Personally, I prefer the FOH themes as they have the possibility the completely change the interface, while the EGI just places a bevel and shadow on the buttons and places the same background image on all pages.

I change it to use the charcoal look in store settings. I can edit the background, but not the buttons.

I wasn't going to say anything for fear of speaking out of turn, but I didn't think you could change the color of the buttons either. Would be interested in hearing how to do it, if you can get it to work, Bo.

I haven't played with the EGI.cfg file in awhile, but I want to say I was able to change button colors? I guess a better question for me to ask is, which button colors are you trying to change? Which file are you editing EGI.cfg or MM.ini?

In EGI.cfg there is a line "BUTTONCOLOR=" where you can enter a RGB #. Does that do what you are looking for?

I am really getting interested in this now! I may have to come in early and start playing around with this again!

That is what I did and it did not effect it. I was actually trying to change the color of the text, because the customer elected to go with the charcoal interface because it is dark and the terminals don't stand out in the corners of the restaurant but the blue text on the buttons don't stand out very well.

You can change the color of text in EGI.cfg
I believe you actually have to change the White, Black, Blue, etc..values. For example if you make WHITE=102,0,102, it will change any default white text to that color.
