Editing a table in Query Analyzer

I am trying to update some rows in a table using Query Analyzer.
Using the Object Browser and selecting one of the User Tables,I then right click on this table.
I can click on the Open option to view all rows but I want to choose the Edit option but it is dimmed.
Is there some setting that needs to be enabled to allow me to make the appropriate changes to this table. I have searched thru BOL but can't seem to find anything.

If you want to edit the data you can open the table then just type your changes in the open table grid.

I believe the edit on the menu implies that editing the table schema cannot be done from here, dont think you can enable it.
