Thanks to a quirk when creating the data source, one of the merge fields that I'm working with has a hyphen at the end of every record. It's a date field, so every single date is formatted like 8/6/01-. Is there a way to do something during the mail merge that will remove the hyphen when it merges the data??? Everything I've tried so far has been pretty fruitless, so any suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks,

Daniel

What's the data source, Daniel? If it's Excel or Access or Word, you can select just that column, hit ctrl-h, put a hyphen in the Find box, and nothing in the Replace with box. Hit replace all. Better to fix your data source than the merged doc.

Otherwise, if there are not any other hyphens in the mailmerge product (labels, doc), then you can do the same AFTER the merge. Brainbench MVP for Microsoft Word
