EditDropClass - Blank drop list?

Thanks to Pavel for answering my EIP question. That was helpful. Now I'm stuck with another EIP problem. I change one of my EIP columns to EditDropClass (Column Specific)to get the drop list in a specific column. Now when I try to enter data in that column, the drop list appears but it comes up blank - my 6 data options do not appear. Yet, when I exit the column, the program informs me (error box)that my entry was not among the 6 valid entries. What gives?
