Edit pages on workstation or on Web server?

I started using Frontpage 2000 by editing/creating web pages on my workstation and then publishing them to a web server (probably what most people do). But when I got into setting up Active Server Pages, I had to do some of the editing on the Web server. My question is, is there any reason not to do all of my editing on the Web server? I can publish from there to my workstation to create a backup.

As far as I know, no reason. I do a little ASP coding, but on my local machine & then publish to the server. Not too sure why you have to do it on the server?

As long as you publish from the server to your local hard drive to maintain that backup, you are fine. I have even met people who thought they had to create it on the server & they did not know they could create a site on their local machine & publish it to the server.
