Hi there,

We have a server that holds all of our assigned packages. This server is soon to be decommissioned. The new server will have a different name so now all the assigned MSIs within the GPOs need to have their path changed to point to the new server. Does anyone know how I can do this? I know I can get round this by adding a CNAME to DNS for the old server name and pointing it to the new server but it would be nice if I could get rid of all references to the old server on our network.

Any ides would be most appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Glenn

You can't change the path using GPMC. You have to remove & add the package back to the GPO.

I've been looking for a third party product that would allow you to change this. Especially since if the package is set to remove when it falls out of management, removing the package and adding it back in will cause the app to uninstall and then reinstall.
