edit mask and CE10

I have a report that has a string parameter with a edit mask of >CCCCCCCCC. Once published to CE10 this edit mask is ignored. There is a BO support article about this for CE8.5, which says the issue is fixed for later versions of CE. It seems that is not quite true. Has anyone experienced the same problem and is there a fix for it?
