Our PCs have Office XP installed and we don't intend to upgrade just yet. Is it possible to get Actions -> Edit in Datasheet working from a SharePoint library without upgrading to Office 2003 or higher?

I know that a variant of this question has been posted a few times before, but those posts seem unresolved.

I also know that Microsoft KB artcile 909506 says Office 2003 is required, but sometimes dear old Microsoft contradict themselves. Perhaps someone out there has found a way to get it to work with Office XP.

Thanks in advance.

Nope. The 2K3 internals and OWC parts are required. No workaround.

Don't you just love it when they include the one-way valve in their upgrades?

Pity the insomniac dyslexic agnostic. He stays up all night, wondering if there really is a dog.

OK. Thanks, Phil, for the confirmation.

Office 2k3 Pro or better is needed to get datasheet view to work. There is a work around (reg setting) for STD users. Google is your friend.
