I was just given an old sx200 LW17 H24.0.0 date 19-JAN-1999.
Of course the installer password has been changed. I was able to get in with Maint1/1000 but I need to make sure I can have full access to this system. I read in a previously closed thread that I can change the hex field for the installer password if i had a copy of the database. I got that downloaded. Is it possible someone knows how to edit and where to edit the hex field?

Each load has the passwords in a different place so you'll need to find it yourself. Find a hex comparison program. Change one of the other passwords (Maint2 for e.g.) and get another backup. Then compare the 2. You will find 4 bytes have changed. The 4 bytes before this are the Maint1 and the 4 before that are the installer.

You'll need to repeat for Maintenance passwords.

Thanks, Downloading backup database now. Then I'll change Maint2 password and download it again and save as a the same name but a different location.

SUCCESS! (Sounding like Dexter from Dexter's laboratory).

Found the differences, located the Installer Hex, Duplicated the entries from the others into that hex. Uploaded. And able to log in now.

Almost too easy don't you think?
