hi!!

does anyone know how it to set the opacity of the background of an edit/richedit control?? for instance by subclassing the control & modifying the way it's painted!? can you create a bitmap from the control & mess with it in memory?? i've been searching the net & can't find anything so it would be really cool if anyone knows of any examples/articles.

thanks!! ::)

Thanks for that. I should have mentioned though that i've tried to do it using the WS_EX_LAYERED style bit approach without success. I'm assuming that's because edit controls don't have this style bit. I may be wrong!?!?

If anyone knows how to accomplish window/control transparency without using SetLayeredWindowAttributes???
