Hello,

If you have the proper user rights assigned (i.e Contributor etc.) and the contact list allows a contributor to edit items in the list then it should be very easy for you.

Go into the Contact list and when you hoover your pointer over the column that is linked to edit menu (by default I think it is the Last name column) there you can chose to edit the users information.

If you do not have any column that is linked to the edit menu, that can be changed by changing the view of the list. That is done by Cliking modify settings and columns from the Action list on the left hand side once you are the your Contact list. Although you might not have enough user-rights to change the view layouts if you do not have Web designer rights.

There are a lot of books and documents about SharePoint, are you running Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server or Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services?

On Microsofts website you can easily find the Administrator guides and Help for both products. Just do a search on the MS website for administrator guide sharepoint and you will find it.

Regards,
Thomas
