Hi !
I'm in the process of upgrading ZenWorks 3 to ver. 4.
In the Prerequisites it says that I must use eDirectory 8.62
or later.
I'm using NW 5.1 SP5 and I belive that I'm using eDirectory 8.82.
My DS.NLM looks like this:

DS.NLM (Address Space = OS)
Loaded from [SYS:SYSTEM\]
Novell Directory Services Version 8
Version 8.82 2002 June 13

Is my assupmtion right that I do have eDirectory 8.82 ?
Is this the correct way to check the eDirectory version
or should it be done in some other way ?

Hope someone can clarify this to me.

Thanks and regards
Lars-Gunnar

I'm in the same boat.. (installing Zfd 4 on NW5.1 SP5..)

NW 5.1 is NDS 8, not eDirectory so you will need to upgrade. Zfd4 comes with a bundled eDir 8.7 lic for 250,000 objects. It's a free download. You will need to extend the schema and move to eDir before you can install Zfd4. NDS has a totally different backend than eDirectory. It looks the same but is completely changed. eDirectory ships with NW6 and later.

At least this is what I *think* I know so far. ;) IMHO you should call your Netware rep and ask for the eDir lic to go with your Zenworks.

An eDirectory DS.NLM version looks something like v85.27c -----------------------------------------------------
