edirectory authentication with apache Suse Linux

Hi,
We migrated from a Netware server to Novell Suse Linux Enterprise Server (SLES 10) our enviorment is all on edirectory, so i need a way to be able to authenticate edirectory for our web server running on suse linux so users will have the proper rigths to access files on that web server, back with novell it was a module call mod_edir that used to take care of that. For some reason the did not import to Linux....is a way that I could get around this?........any help will be great
